linguistics, text linguistics, graphic text linguistics

Research Title

  • a systemic approach to the Japanese language, This project attempts to descripbe Japanese grammar by employing systemic functional theory developed by M.A.K. Halliday, Christian Matthiessen, and James R. Martin., 2000
  • A revision of the field, tenor, and mode of discourse in the narratives presented in women's fashion magazines, This project aims to review Halliday’s definition and interpretation of the ‘context of situation’ through an analysis of some sentence-ending particles concerning the agreement between the writer and readers that appear in the Japanese fashion magazines CanCam and Sweet. The project will be concluded by proposing a text generation system, which gives a socio-cognitively viable account of the context of situation., 2013
